Αμερικανικός δάκτυλος η επίσκεψη του Ιορδανού πρίγκιπα Γάζι στον Θεόφιλο και τον Πανάγιο Τάφο.

«Ανάσα» στον Θεόφιλο έδωσε η επίσκεψη Γάζι στα Ιεροσόλυμα.

Πληροφορίες ήθελαν το τελευταίο χρονικό διάστημα κληρικοί του Πατριαρχείου να έχουν επιδοθεί σε έντονες παρασκηνιακές διαβουλεύσεις προκειμένου να καθορίσουν τις μελλοντικές κινήσεις τους εντός της Σιωνίτιδας Εκκλησίας και την τύχη του Θεόφιλου αμέσως μετά το Πάσχα.

Τα ζητήματα που τέθηκαν -λόγω των προσωπικών συμφερόντων- ήταν πολλά. Κάποιοι επεδίωξαν την διατήρηση των θέσεών τους, άλλοι την ισχυροποίησή τους και μόνο ένας αξίωσε την εκλογή νέου προκαθημένου!

Το συμπέρασμα που βγήκε από τις συναντήσεις είναι ότι επτά χρόνια μετά την ανατροπή του ο νόμιμος και κανονικός Πατριάρχης Ιεροσολύμων κ.κ. Ειρηναίος Α' έχει ξανά την αποδοχή της πλειοψηφίας της Αγιοταφιτικής Αδελφότητας.

Σύμφωνα με έγκυρες πηγές ο ίδιος δεν συμμετέχει, αλλά ενημερώνεται διαρκώς για το τι συμβαίνει μέσα στο Πατριαρχείο τηρώντας μια στάση αναμονής.

Μάλιστα σε μέλη της μοναστικής κοινότητας που επικοινώνησαν μαζί του τη Μεγάλη Εβδομάδα παραπονούμενοι ότι αισθάνονται δέσμιοι τεράστιων οικονομικών συμφερόντων και πως θα εγκαταλείψουν τα πανάγια προσκυνήματα συνέστησε «λίγη ακόμα υπομονή».

Βαρόμετρο για τις κυοφορούμενες εξελίξεις πάντως φαίνεται είναι η επίσκεψη στον Θεόφιλο και τον Πανάγιο Τάφο του πρίγκιπα Γάζι, αρμόδιου για θρησκευτικά θέματα στην Ιορδανία.

Κύκλοι της ελληνορθόδοξης εκκλησίας από εχτές αναφέρουν πως η παρουσία του είχε κίνητρα αμιγώς πολιτικά, κάτι που θίγει την ελευθερία ενός θρησκευτικού θεσμού να αποφασίζει για τις εσωτερικές του υποθέσεις.

ΝΑ ΠΟΙΟΣ ΠΟΥΛΑΕΙ. Εξασφαλίσαμε και το αντίγραφο του συμβολαίου παραχώρησης εκκλησιαστικής γης (Ταλπιότ) σε εβραϊκή εταιρεία για 99 χρόνια από τον Θεόφιλο. Δείτε τις αντιδράσεις του ποιμνίου (Β' μέρος)



The peaceful and joyous atmosphere outside the Bethlehem Nativity Temple on Christmas day was disturbed by the angry voices of Arab believers who were protesting that the Patriarchate “is no longer a religious-spiritual centre but a real estate agency and a banking institution”. The cause for this protest was an announcement unbecoming the mission and the history of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, admitting to a land development agreement for the real estate it owns in the Talpiot neighbourhood of West Jerusalem with “one of the best companies for land development […] and a history full of achievements in this domain, especially in changing the classification and category of lands”! This latter reference is of particular importance, since –according to the Patriarchate spokesman, Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantia- the allotted 71 dunams were in danger of being expropriated by the Municipality of Jerusalem. So, rather than risking having them reduced to “green areas”, the current leader of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre, Mr Theophilos, turned them over to the Shraga Beran group (of Jewish interest) with the obligation to “get a construction license and building permits for the land”, aiming at “The construction of at least 1000 apartments”, which would mean new ‘legal’ settlements in the West Bank and at the same time a slow, steady and invisible process of fragmenting Palestinian land. As a matter of fact, in an attempt to present the transaction with the Jewish Shraga Beran group as a ‘one-way street’, the Patriarchate administration claims that it was Patriarch Irineos the first one to give the rights for the Talpiot land development to the –also Jewish- B.A.R.A. company. And the questions that readily arise are the following: If Mr Theophilos is so critical of Mr Irineos’ alleged or actual deal with a company, why is he doing exactly the same with another? Why is it that in the announcement they made there is no evidence whatsoever confirming the existence of a contract exclusively between Irineos and the B.A.R.A. company for the development of Talpiot? The involvement anew of Irineos/Vavylis/Papadimas in order to justify this selling-out causes nothing more than mirth. So does the announcement by the contracting parties (Theophilos-Shraga Beran) concerning the numbers and sizes of the apartments to be built. Pay attention! At least 1000 (which means that they may be even more) apartments, on an area of 12,000 square metres, i.e. an average of 120m2 per apartment! How unbelievable is that? Naturally, one should not be surprised by the distortion of reality to the benefit of this deal’s key players. However, it has been forty years of expropriating lands, diverting water to the pools of Jewish settlers, with Palestinian villagers’ olive trees uprooted by extremist settlers, and endless queues at military checkpoints. So, Theopilos’ aggressive business plan goes hand in hand with the total intransigence of the hardcore nationalist Benjamin Netanyahu aiming at multiplying the already existing West Bank settlements. Bear in mind that on 17/11/2009, the Israeli Foreign Ministry gave permission to build 900 new housing units in the Gilo neighbourhood in East Jerusalem amidst international outcry against Israeli settlements. The Israeli government, however, discarded the protests by international community leaders by repeating that the Gilo neighbourhood expansion is a “technical issue” for the city’s municipal authorities rather than a result of Benjamin Netanyahu’s policy. “I think that additional settlement building does not contribute to Israel’s security” Mr Obama stated in a Fox News interview. “I think it embitters the Palestinians in a way that could end up being very dangerous”, he added. On the flipside the US President’s statement, the Patriarchate’s intent to “build at least 1000 apartments” in the Talpiot neighbourhood is preposterous and will have a negative impact on the attempts to revive the peace process, at a moment when all powers (the Quartet on the Middle East) are focusing on restarting the dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians. As Mahmoud Abbas refuses to negotiate unless Israel completely halts all settlement construction and natural growth (which he pointed out again before Christmas in the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram), Theophilos indulges in a frivolous and detrimental management of Hellenic interests in the wider area. Where does the Greek Foreign Ministry stand, as well as the competent parties of all levels (both within and without the Patriarchate), before the culmination of Theophilos’ foolishness to allow the most significant Christian Church in the Holy Land to be turned into part of the Middle Eastern issue and a means to prey on everything that is sacred and holy by turning the “pockets” of Orthodoxy into business connections? Based on these recent facts and the latest dangerous and unpleasant developments, it is imperative that Prime Minister George Papandreou convinces people as soon as possible that he is truly different than his predecessor and that he is both decided to and capable of avoiding escalation of the tension with the Arabs and safeguarding the Patriarchate’s nature and position –even if such an endeavour requires immediate restructuring. Besides, nobody forgets that the church dispute that broke out in Athens in 2005, was appeased in Jerusalem with Irineos Skopelitis’ removal, despite the fact that he maintained that the Patriarchate employee had acted without his approval and that no prior Holy Synod decision existed concerning the Omar square agreements

THEOFILOS WHO IS SUPPOSED TO BE PATRIARCH IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE LANDS

-     He sold the lands of the Patriarchate to Israelis!
-     He rented the lands to Jewish company for... 99 years - Let's see what else will follow.

-     Those who selected Theofilos as Patriarch of Jerusalem under the pretext of protection of the Patriarch property and not keeping on selling at in Israel, expanding in that way their lands, they were proven to be out of reality.

In 2007, the decision of the Jordan Council of Ministers to remove the recognition of Theofilos because of the incident that he didn't fulfill the commitments which he had taken on towards Jordan Government after his election as Patriarch of Jerusalem, even the rumors about his involvement in a series of transactions with real estates of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, forced the King's cousin, Prince Gazi, who is a main factor in determining religious and church matters of Jordan, to demand and, at the same time, to give the Patriarch a notice not to give even a piece of land from the available property of Patriarchate, especially in the Old Town.
He had characteristically underlined that "it is a political issue and due to the fact that we are responsible for the interests of Arab Orthodox Christians, we want to protect their rights".
Athens, which played a significant role in the defusing of a crisis (the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Dora Bakogianni had meetings with the counterparts of Jordan and Palestinian Authority in Brussels, while General Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Charis Rokanas had consultations with Israeli side), managed to form the conditions for the recovery of Theofilos in the Patriarchate throne.
Although the recent revelation from television net Al Jazeera that Theofilos agreed with a Jewish construction company, which wants to exploit commercially just about 99 years three pieces of land of Patriarchate (43.17 and 11 acres respectively) in south Jerusalem, caused rage in the Arab public opinion and severe distress in the royal palace in Amman.
According to what is mentioned in the contract, which referred to the contract (a copy of which is in the possession of the newspaper "Paron"), the properties of the Patriarchate are not characterized for construction and the constructor undertakes the obligation to work with all of his strength (!) so as the Regulation of city plan about the lands changes (article 3.2 of the contract), whereas Patriarchate is obliged to participate and sign all the necessary documents about the change of land use (article 3.3).
The constructor is obliged to present the construction projects to the urban planning of Jerusalem within 12 months from the date of signature of this agreement, while he has the right to delay the agreed date for 6 months (18 months as a whole). The completion of the project should be up to no later than 31/12/2014 (article 5.1).
Patriarchate, for its part, is binding to rent the lands to the building contractor for 99 years (article 5.2). As quid pro quo system, it will take 100 residences (article 6.1) concentrated as possible (article 8.2).
In the case of building permit for hotel (as it is referred in paragraph, the building contractor has not obligation to draft or build hotel), the Patriarchate will take 20% of the net profit (article 6.3).
It is worth underlying that the ratification of the agreement from the contracting parties was realized in 28 April of 2009, at the time that almost two months before that (in the beginning of March) the Israeli Ministry of Housing had announced a broad settlement in West Bank, with the aim of doubling the settlers in the region despite the severe reaction of the United States.
The project involves the construction of 73,000 residents in order to accommodate approximately 280,000 people.
When Theofilos transferred the lands of Patriarchate property, wasn't he aware of it? Or isn’t he aware of the fact that the fast expansion of Jewish constructions inside and around East Jerusalem, together with the use of "Hedge segregation", the wall which isolates East Jerusalem from West Bank, cancels with the most effective way the target of the Palestinian state creation?
It was obvious, when recently (7 September) the Netanyahu Government gave the green light for the construction of 366 new houses in Jewish settlements in possessed West Bank (although something like that has been declared against the law by the international community), with the aim of approving as soon as possible new licenses increasing the whole number of residences which are going to be constructed in the above Jewish settlements in 450 in total, that Arabs in order to publish the agreement of the greatest land owner in Jerusalem, the Patriarchate, with technical company of Jewish interests.
The immediate and hasty transition of surprised Theofilos for meetings in private with officials of the Kingdom of Jordan was justified by those who live nearby in Jerusalem as necessary initiative in order not to swerve the situation against him. And how won’t it swerve, as we were reminded of the fact that the change of attitude of Jordan Government in June of 2007 was also provoked by two letters which Theofilos had sent to the Jordan Prime Minister Marouf aI-Bakhit, with which he ensured his binding in the law of 1958, which prohibits the sale of property of Patriarchate, mainly the lands that belong to it?
In this surrounding, it is more than obvious that the leakage of the contract undermines and trivializes the prestige of Jerusalem Patriarchate for reasons which are irrelevant to its existence and emission.
In the difficult international environment, the representative of the Brotherhood of Holy Sepulchre, Theofilos, instead of acting in a pacifying and impartial way in the tough disagreements of the area, he became the instrument of the overthrow of status quo stability.
Did, really, Theofilos understand that the specific revelation had a fundamental political infrastructure because it concerns the safeguarding of benefits which would favor, in this case, the Jewish people in a future arrangement of the territorial issue of the Mideast problem?
Furthermore, the long - term land rent in Israel in order to establish in that place buildings of settlers is coming to adverse with the peaceful plan for Mid East, which was thought of, according to the newspaper "Times" of London, King of Jordan Abdullah and the President of the USA Barak Obama, which predicts restart of the Jewish and Palestinian talks at the end of the month and their completion time schedule to be set in about 2 years by now.
At the same time, the most significant condition of Palestinians for their return to talks, is the "freezing" of the Jewish buildings.
Undoubtedly, the dealings of Theofilos offer a very bad service not only to Greece or his Arabian flock, but also to issue of peace itself. Unfortunately, the fact that is proven after 4 years, is that Theofilos is not the person who appeared to be in the beginning.
The Brotherhood of Holy Sepulchre trusted him with unanimity the guiding of the Orthodox Christians in the Holy Land and the protection of Orthodox faith and the only thing he did, was to be engaged in small politics tricks which leave plenty of margins for further undermining and weakening of an old and famous Patriarchate.

Νέες αποκαλύψεις της εφημερίδας «Το Παρόν της Κυριακής» για πωλήσεις εκκλησιαστικής γης από τον Θεόφιλο στα Ιεροσόλυμα! Περιήλθαν στην κατοχή μας και παρουσιάζουμε τα αντίγραφα των επίμαχων εγγράφων.


Σύμφωνα με το αποκαλυπτικό δημοσίευμα (βλ. δίπλα) ο μακαριώτατος κ.κ. Ειρηναίος «από την πρώτη στιγμή της εκλογής του, ως Πατριάρχης είχε προχωρήσει στη σύσταση επιτροπής η οποία είχε αποκλειστικό αντικείμενο την καταγραφή της περιουσίας του Πατριαρχείου. Με την αντικατάστασή του η Επιτροπή αυτή διαλύθηκε και φυσικά η καταγραφή της περιουσίας έμεινε στον... αέρα! Έτσι «άνοιξε» η όρεξη των Ισραηλινών, που ενδεχομένως είχαν προσυμφωνήσει με κύκλους του Πατριαρχείου να «μαζέψουν» τμήματα της περιουσίας του, και ξεκίνησαν ένα... όργιο εξαγοράς πατριαρχικών εκτάσεων, είτε με κανονική αγορά είτε με τη μέθοδο των... αμφισβητήσεων και των συμβιβασμών. Δεν είναι καθόλου τυχαίο βέβαια ότι όλα αυτά ξεκίνησαν από την ώρα που το Ισραήλ αναγνώρισε ως Πατριάρχη Ιεροσολύμων τον Θεόφιλο...»
